The Challenge

Cushman & Wakefield was instructed by the international property fund PURetail to assist them to identify and acquire high street retail properties in Sweden’s main cities.

PURetail is a joint venture between Cushman & Wakefield Investors and Scottish Widows Investment Partnership focusing on retail properties in major city centres in Germany, France and Sweden

The Solution

Cushman & Wakefield carried out a proactive search process that included tours and analysis of several Swedish cities, and connections with property owners.

In this regard, Linköping was select as a key town to invest in.

The Results

PURetail successfully acquired the three retail properties in Linkoping at 9,000 sq m for Swedish listed property company Klovern.

The subject properties had a letteable area of approximately 9,000 sq m and were located in the main pedestrian shopping area in Linköping city centre with a strong tenant line up anchored by Gina Tricot, Indiska and Nilsson Shoes.

Throughout the purchase process, Cushman & Wakefield worked closely with the client during the commercial, technical and legal Due Diligence.

The success of the project was based on a good understanding of the client’s requirements in connection with a deep knowledge of the Swedish retail property market.
